Kathy Cooper has worked in environmental research positions for 30 years. As Senior Researcher at CELA, and a paralegal, she provides casework support to environmental litigation, conducts law reform and public legal education, and serves on the steering committees of the Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment (CPCHE) and the Low-Income Energy Network. She has authored several publications about the effects of environmental contaminants on fetal and child health as well as links between early life exposures and later life chronic disease. Recent work has addressed the integration of environmental health protection into energy efficiency programs, a project to address indoor environmental health issues for low-income tenants in Ontario, and research and advocacy about law and policy across Canada concerning radon.
